Quick Overview
Pro-tool. Pro-tection.
Water Sensor 6 protects your home from leaks and floods in the easiest of ways. You place it down set it and forget it. Dock is a pro-tool that dramatically enhances the most important features of Water Sensor 6. With Dock and Water Sensor 6 combined your home is protected by the most advanced Z-Wave flood sensor available.
What Dock enhances.
Monitor 2 areas.
Connect 1 or 2 of the provided spot sensors to Dock to monitor for leaks up to 1 metre away from Water Sensor 6. Most water leak sensors let you only monitor a single area. Dock enhances Water Sensor 6 to be able to monitor 2 separate areas using spot sensors. Each sensor is a probe that can monitor surfaces including floors up to 1 metre away from the installation location of Dock. Only 0.1” thick probes are perfect for remote monitoring and to monitor in exceptionally tight and hard to reach areas.
Monitor a whole area.
Connect a lasso sensor to encircle and monitor an entire area such as a hot water boiler. While you can be sure that leaks will happen you can’t always be sure where they will happen. That’s particularly true when it comes water tanks and boilers. While they will leak it’s impossible to know from where they’ll leak. Dock solves that. Simply connect a lasso sensor and encircle an object completely. Wherever the leak occurs Water Sensor 6 will then detect it.
Product Details
Power optimized.
Use a USB charger and provided cable to power the Dock from a power outlet. Now Water Sensor 6’s battery acts as an emergency backup.
The dock can be powered by mains electricity. Simply plug it into a power outlet using the provided USB cable and a 5VDC 0.5A USB adaptor; a common smartphone charger. Doing so means that Water Sensor 6 no longer needs to depend on batteries; you don’t even have to use them. But if you do Water Sensor 6’s battery will be used as a backup battery that offers the same battery life as the sensor itself: 2 years. Plenty of time to get power restored to Dock.
Wireless optimised.
Raise Water Sensor 6 using Dock and optimize the performance of its Z-Wave Plus antenna.
Water Sensor 6 uses Gen5 and Z-Wave Plus for wireless communication. It’s optimized to communicate at over 150 meters in an open space. As Z-Wave is a low-power signal however its wireless range can be impacted by metal objects such as washing machines and fridges. Water Sensor 6 uses Gen5 and Z-Wave Plus for wireless communication. It’s optimized to communicate at over 150 meters in an open space. As Z-Wave is a low-power signal however its wireless range can be impacted by metal objects such as washing machines and fridges.

Configuring Z-Wave Devices:
Z-Wave devices often have several configurable parameters that you can change using your Vera’s user interface. These parameters can include things such as the length of time a Z-Wave siren remains active or the type of manual switch connected to a Z-Wave light controller.
Every available configurable parameter is listed in your device’s user manual. In most cases your device’s default parameters will be suitable to your needs however sometimes it may be necessary to adjust them to optimally use your device. A guide to configuring Z-Wave devices with Vera UI7 is available in the Manuals section.
This product must be installed by a qualified electrician.
Before engaging an electrician check that they provide a warranty and electrical compliance certificate.
For warranty claim you have to provide an installation compliance certificate from your electrician.
PLEASE NOTE FOR THE INSTALLATIONS IN THE AREAS WHERE ELECTRICITY SUPPLIERS USING OFF-PEAK RIPPLE CONTROL SIGNALS:
Electricity suppliers in particular areas of Australia such as NSW QLD and some others places are injecting an off-peak ripple control signal using Zellweger equipment or similar onto their distribution networks in order to remotely control devices such as off-peak hot water systems and street lighting although other areas within Australia also use this technology. Not all properties are affected by ripple control so just because you might live in one of these areas does not mean that you will have these problems.
Ripple injection control systems work by superimposing coded control signals commonly 750Hz or 1050Hz on the 50 Hz mains supply.
Some electrical appliances such as fans dimmers toasters and LED lighting can be sensitive to this ripple control signal. The results could be audible buzzing noises from fans or flickering lights whenever the ripple control signals are present.
Electricity suppliers are advising users to install appropriate ripple signal filters in such areas.
The ripple signal filter is a tuned passive inline filter that completely eliminates the superimposed ripple injection control signal from the normal mains supply to produce a noise-free filtered mains supply which can then be connected to the electrical appliances or light control systems. The ripple signal filter is specifically tuned to eliminate the ripple control signal frequency of 750Hz or 1050Hz.
However we can’t guarantee the ripple signal filter always will help you if you experiencing such issues. Please contact your local energy provider to get more information and proposed solutions for your electrical installation.
If you are getting similar problems with your dimmers and fans and it’s not Ripple Control Signal and you are hearing the tones at random times of the day your electrical supply may be affected by harmonics; a power fluctuation that is not part of the normal electricity supply or ripple control signal output.
Harmonics are caused by interference created by other equipment on the network such as inverter-type air conditioners and switch-mode power supplies for computers.
The offending appliances may be in your home or other premises on the local power grid. If you are being affected by network harmonics it may be of benefit to transfer the electricity supply to your premises to a different phase in the street. This is something you will need to discuss with your electrical company.
We are strongly recommending for the areas we have mentioned above to run tests with only a few dimmers before committing to high volumes. If results are not fully OK you may use relays only instead of dimmers.
Please note that our warranty for the faulty devices does not cover above mentioned conditions with your local electric grids.
Please see affected with Ripple Signalling areas here:
QUEENSLAND
- Only Southern Queensland (Energex) has Ripple Signalling.
- The Frequency is 1050Hz.
- The rest of Queensland (Ergon) does not have Ripple Signalling.
NSW
- Energy Australia Full Supply Area
- Energy Australia Sydney &Hunter Supply Area
